INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

Parents of our Altar Servers are also important! Parents are the spiritual leaders of the family and can certainly impact the faith and spirituality of their children. In order for one to become an Altar Server at Holy Family, parents must also commit to the program requirements. In the child's registration process, parents are required to sign off on the registration form. This means that parents commit to bringing their child to Mass on their assigned days, and ensure that their child follows HFK Altar Server policies. Altar Serving at HFK is a one-year commitment. Parents are also responsible for finding a replacement server if they know their child will be away on an assigned day. Remember that by committing to the program themselves, parents are setting a good example about the importance of going to Mass, and the good that comes from serving the parish community.

HOW CAN YOU CONTINUE TO GROW THE FAITH IN YOUR FAMILY?

  • Go to Mass as a family every Sunday
  • Pray at home together
  • Have discussions about the faith
  • Do service activities together as family
  • Get children involved in parish life, (e.g. altar serve, help at cafe, join the youth group)
